Those images really show the potential of Jordan' s cliff setup.  I especially like the complexity of all the accompanying textures. Each image has it's own merits, all are worthy of extended viewing, beautifully done!

Wow excellent work. Love the clouds in contrast to the low elevation lighting on the cliffs. Great work, love these.

Ditto, especially the brooding, stormy clouds. But they're all terrific.

So beautiful!
I am only a bit undecided what bothers me with the sandbeach .
Maybe I would like it even better with less fractal breakup (a bit smoother) and slightly brighter. What do you think?

Thank you Doc, I fully agree with you, the beach could be much improved. Honestly I only managed to make a beach to use a plane and a fractal power, the cut between the beach and the ground is always hard. Concerning water and shoreline it could be better too.

I like the one with the kangaroo, really nice. In the other one I'd decrease translucency of the leaves; in the shadows the greener trees  kind of 'shine'.

Those last 3 renders are the best. I especially like the grass texture. The only thing that's a bit off IMHO is the bluish color of the trees, but that's probably a matter of taste. :)

Yes, for the trees it may look a little peculiar as a colouring, but the trees are euchalyptus whose natural foliage is tinged with blue.

Yes, the B&W ones have some sort of eerie realism, like the last shots of an explorer before he succumbed. B&W always evokes that sense of realism, often more than color. From color renders I like 18 most. Good job!

The B&W ones are great.  You always manage to get a great sense of place in your work and the veg in the desert ones is spot on.

The monochrome ones are indeed fantastic. With some of the other recent color images, it's really nice to see new/different vegetation, depicting other countries (so often I think we see a Northern/American/European bias, though understandable given the audience here). The only small criticism I'd make is the trunks seem overly smooth on some of that vegetation.

Thank you all for your comments and remarks, I appreciate it very much!

Thank you Oshyan, Concerning trees with smooth trunks I guess it concerns image 18 with Ghost Gum trees, it is difficult to have an idea of the reality of this tree here in North America since this species does not grow there, I know that this may seem strange but in many of the photographs that can be seen on the net, this tree often appears with a very smooth bark and sometimes a very bright white.

Post by: Oshyan on January 13, 2019, 01:58:07 PM
Yes, primarily image 18, although also the flower stalks (?) in 19-21. Regarding the tree trunk in 18, I would say that it may be realistic for it to be so smooth, but what we see in that image are then two problems. 1: the join of the branch to the trunk (which I think could be somewhat hidden with rougher bark on the trunk), and 2: the overall low resolution of the base texture for the trunk, as there is some detail there but it is blurry. A smooth trunk in real life may have little detail, but what it does have is of "fine" detail so to speak. I think you could probably improve this just by adding a very subtle Power Fractal noise detail to the trunk texture.

Seems the fatter the trunk the more/darker colour that becomes apparent in the bark...yours must be more immature trees

Hi Bobby sorry but I don't know exactly what you want to tell me exactly. In my images it is about Ghost Gum and not Red Gum as in your examples. They are two different kinds of eucalyptus and obviously the bark is not the same.
