Title: Single Object Shadows
Post by: choronr on February 12, 2008, 06:31:15 PM
Finally, after a change of POV, I've been able to get a 'single object' to show up on a terrain. I'm able to locate the object by using either the camera x-y-z numbers; or, by using the 'sphere' location numbers. However, the object does not cast a shadow. Oshyan; do you have any thoughts on this?

If it is near the camera then it may not be near the ground. There will be a shadow but it may be out of the camera's field of view (and small).

Move the mouse over a location on the terrain in the preview and use the coordinates listed at the bottom of the preview to decide where to put the object, and then scale the object up enough that you can clearly see the bounding box in the preview. Then you can either move in towards the object or just do a test render with the scaled-up object.
