I was forced to be offline for a while, because some moron decided to cut off my phone and internet line outside the house.
However in the meantime I found a cool model of the spaceship Prometheus here:
http://digitawn.co.uk/index.html
Unfortunately I had no experience with Lightwave, so it took almost a week to get this great and poseable model including the UV mapping exported.
Finally I got it after I did a lot of retexturing.
I also created an 800 frames animation of it. I'll have to edit it, and when it's done I'll post it. Not sure if I'll put in the animation section, because only very few people seem to care about animation... :(
Curious about the animation.
Was the FBX or Corona export from Lightwave not helpful Hannes?

The FBX export worked somehow, although I had to split the model, because the FBX meshes were incredibly large (in terms of MB). Apart from that it took a while to make LW export the UVs as well.
I have no idea, why LW doesn't do this by default and why you can't export to OBJ...
The landing pods are poseable in LW, which works great, but once you have the pose you want and hit export, it doesn't export the pose you had in LW. It was quite tricky, but in the end I got it by putting all the single parts together.
You can export in OBJ. Not sure what the problem was.
From Layout you have to use save transformed option to have the changed object saved in a new pose (save+save trans object).
Anyway i could have helped if you wanted Hannes.
There could be still problems with export you know but it would have been faster for you at least :)
Excellent texturing and render
That's quite a model AND quite some render, Hannes. Very cool.
WOW...at least you made incredibly good use of your "down" time.
great link hannes, some awesome models there, and a great Enterprise, and tripod
Thanks guys!!

Kadri, I downloaded the trial version, and as far as I can see the options you mentioned aren't available. Anyway, thanks a lot.!!!! Whenever there is some LW issue, I'll contact you!!
now that you've gone through the process of exportation, hope you make a new render of this :)

Nice work! I just realized how much the Prometheus looks like the Serenity. I would like to see that monster animated!
Here is the link to the link of the animation ;) ;D:

Welcome to the animation threads!!! I wish there were more than twenty people who frequently take a look at them... ;) ;) ;)
There's something funny about the mp4; it is shaking VLCplayer and not playing. I'll download again....
Cool beans hannes...having animation and folks involved really conveys the massive size of this ship
