Ah! Just saw this now! Never mind my other posts I guess. Man thats funny! Great minds think alike ;D ;) :)

By the way, geek. I used your site for hexagon 2, which opened the door to modeling for me. Never posted on your site, so thanks! Maybe now TG will give up all her good bits for me. Like the way you did the other tuts I saw on your site (watched a lot of them too). Hope these will go the same way.

Cheers to you!

This guy's tutorials of all of the software are very well done. His voice is low, but his knowledge and presentation are very good quality.

Hi,

There are a number of sections on your TG page that say "coming soon". My question is if buying the series covers whats on its way, or only what I can see has video now?

Also, are you open to suggestions on topics for future tuts?
Two things that I would really like to see are a tut on mudbox/z-brush Vector displacement maps + Terragen.
There is a thread here in the forums on this topic that generated several thousand views in little more then a month or so. So the interest is there.
Also, a tut or three on Geo-control + Terragen would be real nice too.

Thanks for reading.

If you have a ny questions regarding VDisp, Michael, just ask. It's not hard.

I am totally agree with Dune, if you have question, first check the documentation on wikki, next ask community. Tutorials does help to get into application. However from my expirance creating over 1500 video tutorials, this is not express way to get answer. With time as more tutorials will be recorded, i hope cover more subjects of application.

About tutorials: they all available if you purchase them, but you don't need to if you don't want. I am unlocking new tutorials weekly.
I am activity looking for suggestions on new tutorials, what is more interesting to the artists. I am done recording other set of tutorials, that orientated as project based tutorials. And will release them as soon done packing and finalizing bonus pack with presets (shaders)
Thank you for your support.

Will any one be interested in Digital Matte Painting series, using Terragen?
I did many with Vue and wonder if any one here using Terragen for that also?

Just starting to watch these latest tutorials from Geekatplay: excellent again! I envy Vladimir in his ability to divine the inner workings of TG with such ease (apparent ease at least  :)), and I'm certainly grateful that he has offered this latest set. $26 dollars for many, many well explained aspects and techniques; think of how many hours of self-exploration it would take to learn these on your own, a real bargain in my estimation. If I sound like a 'fanboy' right on, I am a fan !

Great news! I'll be looking forward to the release of the new material. Is there any chance of a Terragen to Unreal tutorial as well?  :)

I would like to see and buy a thorough explanation about how to build real looking PF rocks, mountains.

That´s good news! Please explain as much as you can and not just about the new features. I'm really struggling to learn this wonderful software and there is almost no tutorial out there that isn't really old. My biggest problem is how to make nature like trees and grass look real, how to texture a mountain (for example how do the "image map shader" work), and how to texture an object correctly when I bring in Obj-files.

The existing GeekAtPlay tutorials for Terragen 3 are still a great resource. Aside from the list of major new features in Terragen 4 (shown here: http://planetside.co.uk/whats-new-in-terragen-4/ ), it is still largely the same as Terragen 3 as far as how you work with it. So the existing info is often very applicable.

I think these new v4 tutorial series should focus on way more advanced functionality than the 1st series to avoid being just redundant. The first series are v3 tutorials they are defiantly applicable in v4. A quick run through of the RTP is all that is needed IMO. I would certainly move forward into v3 clouds with a complete analysis of all parameters as well as addressing render times in each parameter. That's the main update in v4 that's what created all the buzz so that should certainly be covered extensively as well as the new Ozone feature. Mesh displacement and general object displacement, adding strata and misc vector displacements to terrains and objects etc. Compute normal/Compute Terrain should be explained, we often see shared files with excessive Compute nodes which are not necessary and do nothing but crank your rendertimes up. Camera - DOF function and new lens effects should be reviewed. I have more ideas from all the posts here as well as questions I get at NWDA which I address on a case by case bias, but these are things that should be out there for the public to view. danny@nwdastore.com

Good ideas and feedback Danny, for sure! We still need interested presenters, that's the main holdup on having anything like this happen. I have asked a couple of people but folks seem shy. ;)

That's the catch, finding someone who is technically proficient with good presentation skills. When I was with 3DAD that was always a challenge with any software. You could find one or the other. It was very hard to find someone with both attributes
