Title: object crash
Post by: marcob on December 21, 2006, 08:20:30 AM
I didn't find the cause but found a workaround! I couldn't render cause of object/render crash bug,,,so I saved the object as a TGO and it worked. I don't know if it'll work with every object, but it worked with those I tested. regards. marco :)

I had this obj crash too...
I exported a very simple geometric object out of maya and imported it and when the render region reached the area where the .obj was the render crashed.
After I applied a material in maya and exported it with a .mtl file to terragen the .obj-Model had a connection to a shader and the render didn't crash anymore with this specific object. But I didn't to enough experiments to verify this completely.

We are aware that objects (OBJ format) without attached materials do tend to crash more than objects that are exported with materials. It's interesting to hear that exporting a TGO then reloading may help, thanks for that info.

I have exported several .OBJ as .TGO reloaded and they rendered fine, every time! thanks for the tip.
