Title: Is there any way to use trees in this version?

Is there any way to place trees in my scene with version 0.9?

Nope.  TG 0.9 doesn't support objects.  You can modify the terrain to simulate trees if you like.

Please. Expand on this, if you would.

There are three ways to simulate trees in TG 0.9.  The first is clever texturing.  You can create convincing forests using flat textures, like in this TG 0.9 image: http://www.ashundar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-2083
The second is adding them through postwork - you'll have to get details on that elsewhere.
The third is to add small, sharp conical additions to the TG 0.9 terrain and then add a surface map in order to give them the look of conifers.  Hope that helps.

The fourth way is to create your trees in Blender or Cinema 4D and using Ter2Blend or Terra4D (I hope the name is correct) to import your terragen terrain into Blender or Cinema 4D.
And the fifth way is to add them to your image with Photoshop.

Or you can use Forrester http://www.dartnall.f9.co.uk/forester/main.htm

In my opinion this doesn't make nice results.

Ahh that brings back memories, Forester was quite good for its time although rendering in POV Ray was a pain. Shame it never got much further development. The same guy also makes Arboretum thats a pretty good tree maker.

I prefer Terragen 0.9 over Terragen 2 as it's just simpler to get the terrain I need. When adding objects, I usually just render some trees, rocks, planets, or whatever in 3ds Max and then with Photoshop, I carefully add them to my TG renders. Like others have mentioned, there are multiple ways to get stuff into your scenes. Just make sure the lighting on your object fits within the scene or else it may stand out in an undesirable way.
