A little therapy render as it's still mostly sub zero C. the log is a new freebie from cube brush with fungus growing on the end and a low poly rock I displace more in PoseRay. Dune grass and Walli rushes C&C welcome
This is very nice Bobby.
I would try to put some flowers with different colors. Right now the whole picture is brown and green and my eyes were lost in there.
Very nice, Bobby. What can I add? Perhaps work on the transition between water and sand. With a tiny band of RT reflection there, you may get a more subtle transition.
Nice, Bobby. I really like your closeup scenes.
Small suggestion: The waves on the water surface seem out of scale, much too small. Looks like thin ice instead of a liquid surface. Maybe some concentric ripples instead?

Yeah, that's the trick. Will try later today. A bit of a sad day for me as my music mentor since I became a folk musician passed in the night. Thankfully I might add as he was suffering mightily, but it's still sad to lose one who's meant so much.

I had thought that but more waves gave too much glare on the water with the settings I had...maybe try again with a ripple map. Was originally gonna have the trout just breaking the water's surface with ripples emanating from that spot but forgot till you mentioned ripples.
Haha! That was my first thought. I thought foreground shadow was a muskie or something there in the water. Let's go fishing! We had snow Saturday and Tshirt weather with rain storms yesterday. The birds are chirping tho.
So what a,b ratio do you use on your ground cover, you always do that so well. I assume you keep it tight with small number. Do you use the cache for that also? Does that mean it doesn't have to repop every time?
Sorry for your loss too bobby. It is hard to deal with a loss anytime, but those who we learn from and emulate especially. I feel that is why we are lucky to retain our memories and call on the ones we shared knowing the departed know we keep them close.

The a,b ratio depends usually on the size of the grass and how much coverage I want prior to breaking it up in the Distribution shader's but I use odd numbers which seem to work better,Density shader and yes I try to always Cache pops as that's what it does at rendertime. Saves some time there.
Well I think after tweaking all afternoon that this is likely as good as I can get this.
Great; one of your best!

Thank you, as always I heeded good advice and it arrived here.
Nice one indeed Bobby! Looks like a trout in the water ;). I have some updated models with some morph shapes and better maps if you're interested.
