Title: Lost link every time
Post by: Dune on December 08, 2016, 05:36:00 AM
Very weird. When loading this project or when adding any other node, the link between a specific image map and a displacement shader is broken. Every time again. I can't share the file (NDA), but I'd like to know if anyone has encountered this.

Not in any reproducible way. Can you simplify the project enough to share with us at Planetside and still reproduce the bug?

I did separate the image map and displacement nodes and put them in a new file yesterday, and it was them the same issue. Then I replaced the name of the image map by something else, reloaded the tif, and the issue was gone. Did the same in the big file and it was gone too. So I think it has to do with the name in the title bar. Perhaps the dash or the point?

Ah, it's the forward slash in the node name. Terragen uses forward slash to describe node hierarchies just like a file structure, so you can't use them in node names. So we should make Terragen detect that and prevent it when you enter it.

Slash, dash... slash is what I meant indeed. Good that it's solved!
