Using iclone to animate the bird's with Green BG
Terragen for the scene, and after effects to make some effects

Both very nice but suffer from the lack of foliage of any kind. There is a Procedural grass in the free presets from planetside as the scale you're working on precludes actual populations, they'd be insane. Another good one is camoflague that from a distance can look foresty....

A very good start. May I suggest a very small zoom and pan on the image.
I AE put the image in one plane and the birds on another in front and move the camera forward and pan a little.

Depends on how you look at it. In my case, it reminds me of the Planet of the Apes, which is nice. ;)

The only slight criticism I have is the background image is still? I would like to see just slight movement in the sun rays. I know your birds in flight are probably a sequence of sort, but possible to add an occasional sun highlight? These are very well done, showing great artistry and composition.

it's easy to do it with After effects by just some effects in few minutes.

So, the God rays are AE then?

yes, because in AE the render is very fast. so its easy for me to make scene in terragen (in one picture) after that the AE do the job as effects and animations
