Title: Terragen Workshop on Sunday 9th September - Connect with other Terragen artists!
Post by: Digital Art Live on August 15, 2018, 12:29:15 PM
We have now created a free Terragen community webinar https://digitalartlive.com/event/terragen-workshop/ (https://digitalartlive.com/event/terragen-workshop/), where you can share your artwork and tips.

(Artwork above by Jeff Boser, Rene van Megen, Ulco Glimmerveen and Luc Bianco)

So you'll be able to connect with other Terragen artists by being able to share your desktops in a live webinar environment.

The event is designed for artists to spend 5 or 10 minutes sharing their work, tips and even challenges. It doesn't matter which version of Terragen you use, come along!

You'll have the option to share your desktop in our webinar, so you can talk about your content or artwork in this way. This will be the easiest way to share your work.

You can register absolutely free to enter the webinar (standard registration) and it's optional if you'd like to have the webinar HD quality recording.

You can register here:-

Good stuff, a lot of 'not well off' free users and 'pensioners' can now afford an interesting learning experience.

GLIMMERVEEN=GLIMMER FEET from google translate, sounds like a dancer's name.
But when typed in as an actual name with one cap only it stays unchanged.

Veen means peat, glimmer is mica. So it's a geological name. But this is off topic, so I'll shut up about it.

Consider it solved and closed...thanks...a cool geo-name, seems appropriate.

The Glimmerman spelling can still be found on the registration page.  ;)

Also, are the artists that are listed under the webinar poster all going to be part of the webinar, or is that just a credit for the art in the poster?  Referring to "Artwork above by Jeff Boser, Rene van Megen, Ulco Glimmerman and Luc Bianco"

Also will the video/HD recording be available for sale for the $15 if we can't make it to the event.

Thanks,

Derek

I think it should be clarified that Paul used those images with credit but without explicit permission. No harm was intended, obviously, but it does seem that it has been confusing. Hopefully this clears things up.

We have 20 registered so far, so I certainly think this will provide a good group to share artwork, tips and challenges.

If you know you'd like to share something ahead of the event, even if it's for 5 or 10 minutes, please let me know and I can organise accordingly.

I just need to clarify NWDA was not contacted nor gave permission for the use of the 3 NWDA artists' work for this. I agree I don't think there was any malicious intent, I just wanted to clarity NWDA is not involved with this event.

Yeah that is not a problem. Buying is not problem. The problem is that I would like to know what happened and what I can actually learn. I bought a Tg video series earlier and 90 percent of the content was useless so now I learned to look before buy hehe.

It was, by and large, geared to first time users. Oshyan created as scene from the default opening, quite good really as it helps having someone talk tou thru it. I coulda used that at the start.

Thanks Bobby. I registered and missed the event. I was curious how it went. Too bad it was not like the first one, which was interesting for everyone, new and advanced, I think.

Well this was a freebie, was the first?

The original intention was a sort of "artist showcase" where different TG artists could show something they had created or were working on, give tips, or ask questions. It turned out we had a majority of new/interested users there, so Paul asked me to do an impromptu demo of TG4, which I did (including an upcoming feature of 4.3, easy cloud animation). I think for experienced users it's probably not worth paying for the recording, but I do hope to do more of these events in the future, and they'll hopefully be better attended by experienced users who want to share. Doing this did show the broader interest from new users and suggest that having regular new user introductory sessions might be good, which could take care of that latent need and hopefully leave room for more in-depth sessions separately. It would be nice if people could pick the session they want to go to based on level of experience and knowledge, so nobody wastes too much time on introductory content they're already very familiar with.

Thank you very much Oshyan for the impromptu demonstration and answering the questions we had during the session.
Thanks to Bobby Star for also being present and helping out in the chat.
Yes, I think it would be good to have a session targeted at more experienced users as well as a webinar session (perhaps on alternate occasions) that has focus for newer users/folks considering Terragen for the first time.
For the format of this particular type of webinar "a show and tell", it really all does depend on community members stepping forward willing to share their knowledge.

You still have to count me out, though the idea is interesting. I only have a 32-bit XP machine for online stuff (so slow and old TG as well). Everything else is always offline.
Good to hear it was a success anyway.

But I'm still here.....

Same here well my online is a Win 10 but my workstation(when it's working) is Win 7. Guess I got lucky having a pro win 7 and wound up on the 10 full upgrade.
