i have found a strange behaviour with the fake stones shader i guess.
look at those artifacts. i attach the tgd file, maybe it helps
have you tryed rendering at a higher quality? maybe that will help.

hmm, this doesnt really help. if you look while it renders, it first places a stone with correct displacement and then, suddenly it places this lowpoly-looking thing infront of it.
yea I can see the defects, it almost seems like its been over expanded.

I have this issue quite often. And it just appears, when everything looks fine.
One thing I guess: It could be the density. Try to lower it. Maybe it is just due to the intersection of stones.
