In this 360 panoramic experiment, I've used a few TG tools to build a 30s animation using a still spherical render of a 3D photogrammetric model of the city of Adelaide, South Australia enhanced with a few animated Star Wars fighters.
I've used "render to object" with a invisible sphere over the different fighter(s) I wanted to render and extracted both the RGB and the alpha channel to allow me to duplicate the fighters without rendering full frames. You'll recognize a few x-wings, tie fighters, the Millenium Falcon, some star destroyers and the Death Star.
The rocket smoke plumes are imported OBJ that I gradually revealed using masks in After Effects.
The 360 video works well with new smartphones and tablets and gives a bit of interaction by allowing you to pan around the 360 spherical video by moving your device.
Hope you enjoy.
Very cool! A fun little tribute.
