Nice for a first render. If you want to work on the scene some more, wave whitecaps/cresting would be a logical next step. I like how the clouds fit nicely with the ambience of the scene.

perhaps a bit of smoothing on the boat, and make it alittle lower in the water line..

other than that its a cool first water scene

I like the clouds a whole lot, and the water isn't bad, but I feel the boat should be lower.

I think the problem with the boat is more to do with it being perfectly horizontal than too high. Great clouds and boat.
