Is there a method to reduce or eliminate the problem of "stretching" and color bleed in fake stones? I use them quite a bit, but always seem to run into those issues.

Presumably you are masking the Fake Stones and this "stretching" is due to sharp cut-off in your mask. In other cases of "extreme" displacement on certain areas of stones, you can get an "exploding" effect, but this looks more like masking. Soften the edge of your mask and it should look better.
