Title: Grasslands3
Post by: Henry Blewer on June 05, 2010, 04:21:33 PM
New render using Walli's and Marc's plants. This is a fallow pasture typical of eastern Tioga County NY USA, near Owego.

Wow! I like this very much Njeneb  :)
But there is one problem for me ; the model isn't suited for this kind of proximity .
It looks too much like a 3D object. This is a growing problem for all of you .
Besides this , this is a good  image !

nice render henry, field looks good, and the terrain fits this scene well.
i think the trees might look better if they were more towards the background, (not as far as the trees in distance)

Sweet, Henry.

I bet this took more than a few to render.

32 hrs using one thread. (and playing Civilization 4). I think it might have been 26 or 27 hours if I left the computer to render. Less with both logical processors.

Yikes!

Well, you got to play while rendering. Civilization 4 is fun.

The long render times don't bother me. I can also set up the next landscape to render. Or play around with functions (I wish the formulas for each were available somewhere. It would help understand what and why they do what they do.)

I agree that the trees could be a little farther away. Also, the lighting confuses me a little, as from the sky it seems that the foreground should be brighter. Otherwise nice.

There is a cloud partially covering the sunlight. That's why the foreground is in shade. I had the lighting set up to be in front of the camera, but changed my mind. I was going for godrays.

This is a test render with only one foreground tree, no clouds.

Like what you've done here Henry; especially the grass color and population.
