Title: revivsit
Post by: folder on June 21, 2010, 12:42:48 AM
hi all

been busy with life, sick wife, cisco certification study
decided to take a small break and revisit a scene I did some time back, it's a combinatin of
Seth's dust preset and Danielo's cracks. I added Walli's debris from his preset and MarcG's skull.
I feel those add to the scene.  was inspired by the desert scene Chronor did a while ago

Love this image.
One minor crit: as with most CG images it still looks too clean if you know what I mean? A sprinkling of dusty sand over things would look make it look really photographic.

The skull looks a bit distorted - did you use a wide-angle lens? Very good detail work.

hi
thanks for the comments,, yes the skull does need some work, not a lens but more the settings i used to size it.
Kevin. how would you add the extra layer, --- a surface layer set at an altitude

apart from the squashed skull this is excellent, maybe I would add a bit of specularity to the skull?
still great surfacing and details!

I think it looks good; maybe using the Cubic B Spline filter when rendering would give it a softer look.
