hmm... again the thumbnail is much darker than the full-size view. So, check out the full-size view ;)

Cool image. The puffy cloud looks like the result of a building demolition.

had to play with the raw output one more time....

again the full-siz view will reveal the true colors.

I like the latest post much better. The banding at  the corners is a bit odd... It may be jpeg.

To borrow a title from a story from Ray Bradbury: 'Something evil this way comes...'. Those clouds are right on Frank!

These clouds are really fearsome, Frank. Great atmosphere! Huge and ominous. To show the immense size, perhaps a chapel on top of the mountain would be nice, or a fleeing balloon, or airplane. A little village of whitewashed or adobe-like huts/houses clinging to the mountain would be great too. Lord of the Rings kind-of stuff, you know.

yeah that would be great. Unfortunately I don' t have any such models. Actually, the landscape is more a filler, to help with the sense of scale, I didn't pay much attention to it to be honest. But maybe I'll come back to it.
Actually, I'm preparing the Cumulus Pack V3 for the coming TG2 version, hence the focus is on the sky only, for the moment.

By the way, for anyone who's interested in stats: this rendered in 90 minutes at 1680px wide, at quality 0.85 and GI 2/2

Regards,
Frank

PS: I figured what the problem with the darker thumbs is. The images saved have a generic HDR profile, while they should have a RGB or similar profile.

Cumulus Pack V3 - nice! Very ominous. And there's a free balloon in the File sharing Frank, that would look suitably menaced by these clouds  ;)

wait, I should have an even more menacing scene shortly ;)

I took the balloon from the file sharing (thanks for that!) and made an even more menacing scene.  :o

Eek! If someone offers me a trip in a balloon I'll be thinking twice from now on  :)

haha, mission accomplished, from my perspective then ;)

This is great, absolutely menacing. What if you'd place the balloon just that it is is half veiled by the menacing cloud. Even more menacing, I'd say. The black balloon is a bit too black. I know black is menacing by itself, but this way it menaces less than if it's less menacingly black. Just kidding  ;D

hehe, the far balloon is actually not black, but somehow it turned out very dark. I guess some shadow must be falling onto it, and the contrast enhancement in post made it even darker. Shame, I know.

Cheers,
Frank
