Title: Opinions about this prop
Post by: rcallicotte on March 13, 2007, 09:44:06 AM
If anyone is willing to look at this prop, I'd like your opinions.  So far, I've had good luck exporting Poser objects from DAZ|Studio (latest version) and importing into TG2.  This would likely be a low number of textures and maybe easy to populate.

If you can get the quality to look better than it does in the sample image the object is used in (which to me looks cartoon'ish)  I say it would be a nice object if used correctly.

yeah, I'd say it all depends on the look you want.  I think it could look good as is.  It looks kind of like a miniature... like a painted plastic wall that comes with a model tank or something.  If you're trying to make it more real, I'd work on the material a little more, and maybe add some polys between the stones and pull them in to give a bit more definition between them.

The textures on the walls / stones seem to be in a rather low resolution, because in the image they look somehow blurred what brings me to this conclusion. The objects themself look pretty good and usefully for rural scenery. If you don't get too close with the camera, i would say they are worth the $5,-.

Thanks everyone.  I appreciate your input.  I think I'd probably use these at a distance...like a long wall against a backdrop of a large field.  I need to learn more about objects and texturing to create my own objects.
