Complete rework of the previous: I changed the background image to the Andromeda galaxy, moved the sunlight and moons, added a blue tint to the haze and water, and a selected a different POV on the terrain. No postwork this time.
It's not perfect, but better than my last. It's been a learning curve for sure – and mine has been a straight line for a long time...
Many thanks for cyphyr's tip to turn off the image color interpolation, and especially to Volker Harun who suggested some very good artistic nuances for me to consider.
Eyecatchin' ,-)
WOW... your space renders are awesome 8)
once again, great lighting
Nicely done, I'm enjoyibg these, they have an old world scifi book cover feel to them.
Is it a bug (or possible not quite visible from this view point anyway), but should not the galaxy be reflected in the water?
:)

Agree with Richard re the old sci-fi book feel - almost crying out for an olde-style rocket with legs. Great work!
Ridiculous, wonky rocks! Cool, again. :)
