Title: Smoke coming from object
Post by: jbest on September 16, 2010, 06:15:00 PM
Hi all, I was just wondering whether you can make smoke coming from a spaceship, like a rocket? Or does that have to be post-work?

Thanks,
Jahnu

More than likely, you will have to use Photoshop or another program like it to produce the smoke. Photoshop has tutorials on how to do this - just Google the subject and you will find it.

If you check the forums at terragen.org you'll find some discussion on 'contrails' I think it's titled in the thread. The member [I forget who] managed to get them with functions and I believe the method is in the freestuff there.. ...
Just went and checked and there are 2 files on the Downloads page, Terragen 2 section under Function, Distribution, and other Clip Files

Ogre did a contrail you can use. So no it does not have to be done in post work

Check this thread.

You would be better off doing it in post with a particle generator, imho. Great work with the above links, but there are better tools to do this.
