Title: Alien planets - start
Post by: jbest on September 19, 2010, 10:59:40 PM
This is just a beginning to this. I'm planning to add a little more to the terrain on the green planet, such as a surface layer of snow or some water, or some canyons, or something. The far planet has distorted terrain. The displacement was medium, the noise flavor was perlin ridges, the lead-in scale was 5e+007, and the feature scale was 100,000. Displacement roughness was also increased.

Also planning to add some clouds to this picture ...

Comments welcome.

Interesting displacement,
toxic atmosphere!
Lets see this or something!
best regards,

Interesting look. I like the color. The moon looks a bit odd because of the tilt to the ring of displacements.

Not a bad thing playing around with the atmosphere, you can get some really striking effects. I see you pumped up the warp amount too, again, pretty useful for planetry clouds and continents.
