Still a WIP, hopefully I can return to that pic in near future. Mainly need to sort out lighting.
Until then, I have a little riddle for you: Where does the title (Don´t touch me) of this picture come from.
The first one to answer this question in this thread wins a hand signed ZIP containing five *.tgo files with according textures. Well, I am kidding about the handsigned, but the rest is true ;-)
Here´s a small version of the riddle picture:

And here a bigger version: http://www.wallis-eck.de/bigger3/DTM.jpg
To the NWDA gang : please no whistle blowing ;-)
Impatiens noli tangere?
Thats the name of a plant that shoots its seeds when you touch it.
the name means "Impatient don´t touch me."
I am not sure where in the image it is, the yellow ones are dandelions, aren´t they?
The bushes look like wild roses to me.
Great diversity by the way!
Anyway, thats my guess.
Best Regards,
Jan
it´s not impatiens, but you are on the track...extremly well on track..
P.S yellow is dandelion, right. And purple/blue is scilla bifolia
P.P.S and second guesses are alloweed. Also third ones and so on.
is it Mimosa (Mimosa pudica) or touch me not?
hibiscus noli tangere on the left!
thought about mimosa, but I didn´t see one.
Is there a rosebush on the right?
or is it also hibiscus?
It was only the red Fruit(?) in the right bush that made me think of roses (rosehips), actually the bushes really do look like Hibiscus, great work.
Best Regards,
Jan
Is it the poison ivy, Toxicodendron
radicans?
you listed the wild roses in your first post as "content" of the picture and now describe the fruits on them, so I would say the zip goes to you ;-)
Don´t touch the wild roses because of the thorns.
I see.
Ich breche dich, ich steche dich.
So there is no hibiscus? maybe i would have needed more resolution.
Thanks anyway!
I am zipping five wild roses/ dog roses, hopefully they will be useful for you!
best,
Walli
One can always use a rose!
thanks a lot!
I was quite sure when I found out that there is a species called Hibiscus noli tangere,
Actually my mother (whom I asked after the impatiens turned out wrong) told me that it could be the roses!
I was to much on the names-track.
So the roses should go to my mother, what they will do when I made an image with them.
Thanks!
well done!
lol. Great looking plants! Congratulations!
Actually I made hibiscus a while ago for a library of Xfrog that just has been released (http://issuu.com/xfrog/docs/flowers3_xfrogplants_en?mode=embed&viewMode=presentation&layout=http%3A%2F%2Fskin.issuu.com%2Fv%2Flight%2Flayout.xml&showFlipBtn=true&pageNumber=21), but thats more the cultivated home owners plants, not so much the wild counterparts.
I just made a more detailed render (this time with C4D) of one of the dogroses, another one will follow soon. I hope here it gets more clear ;)

Now, this is a beautiful plant!
I want to point out that this plant of course is not made for close ups THAT close. But I think it gives you an idea how close you can get.
Very nice!!!
thanks!
and now blossom from back, even with translucent shadows of blossom centerparts on the petal

A rose is a rose is a rose,
and that´s a detailed one for sure!
Just outstanding model work!
Hi
Yeah! That's realy outstanding foto-realism!
ciao
Naoo
... and now you guys can get it, fresh and green and blossoming, at www.nwdanet.com
Here is a direct link http://www.nwdanet.com/buy-packs/8-object-packs/11-bushes/60-dogrose-pack.html
We don't take over responsibility for any torn flesh and blood splatters from unintended use, though. Potential band aid goes on you, too ;)
On a side note, I thought I come here and describe the outstanding quality of these plants, but I realize Walli added a few super zoom shots. I guess that speaks for itself then :D
(NWDA folks check the underground.)
Cheers,
Frank
Wow, that's one wonderfully detailed plant model! Loved the little contest, even though I was late to come across this.

For a plant that you made for not THAT close , it is
really very well looking , Walli :)
You have a special touch with creating models; and, it seems a good knowledge of botany and horticulture.
That is some fine work. The level of detail is mind blowing!
thanks for all the kind words!
Nice little riddle, Walli. Too bad I was too late to notice your post. Here's some afterthoughts:
Don't Touch Me is an application that triggers alarm when somebody touch screen or move your PDA (when supported accelerometer is available).
Don't Touch Me is the story of one man's effort to draw comic inspiration out of his darkest, most vulnerable places
Don't touch me is an addictive free online game
So beautifully detailed, Walli! A fantastic looking plant. Great!
The amount of detail on that plant is absurd! Fine work!
thanks for showing us another fine plant Walli!
