Title: Solar System wip
Post by: jbest on October 01, 2010, 08:59:23 PM
This is just a start. This is three planets in a solar system (sun glow is postworked), and i show the three planets from space and then, below each picture, inside the atmosphere.

I know the picture of the orange planet near the ground sucks. Will definitely do a redo of it. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Yes I do. I suggest using my Sun Glow clipfile that should still be in File Sharing. You'll probably have to increase the altitude of the cloud layer as it's designed for viewing near the main planet and not the other planet(s).

Yes, I will try that.  8)

The rocky planet has no atmosphere .. can you still do that sun glow thing?

Put the glow layer at the top of the main planet's atmo stack. By main planet, I mean the planet you started TG2 with. Increase the cloud height to 0.5e+006 meters below the edge of the background sphere and the glow will appear everywhere in the scene. You might want to turn down the glow parameters in the planet atmo nodes because the glow from the clipfile will add to the glow in the planets' atmospheres.

I think the first purple planet looks a bit strange with the sharp edge glow. Could you fix that?

Don't know why that happened. I just turned off "render surface" in the objects area for the planet, and it did that. Maybe someone who knows more about Terragen 2 can tell why?

That´s none of ours!
