this was a idea had a few days ago... thought it look good.
masks were originally created in illustrator, and then edited in gimp
there are a total of three similar masks, used in populations and surface shaders.

It looks like an interesting beginning - would like to see it at slightly higher detail.
i was going to do that sooner, but i realized it needs a little more work, mainly on the terrain and on some of the masks, the background needs some work i think if i'm going to do it at higher resolution and at higher detail.
the close up renders were unintentional, hadn't planned on doing those so close, but i think it looks good.

added a rim shader to the large crater
theres a small pond the center of the crater but its kinda hard to tell its there.

i had been thinking about changing the color of the grass, just have'nt changed it yet, i'll do that soon.
its been taking a long time to calculate both of the grass populations, longer than usual, i spaced them a little bit farther apart for the next render.
version 3, sorry about the quality, i was just doing a quick test render, will render it again overnight, takes like an hour to calculate the grass pops....
the grass pop. mask has changed some, now it has a checkerboard pattern along with its original masking i'm also thinking about resizing the checkerboard pattern, making it smaller.

Very interesting landscape. Capability Brown may not care much for it, but a French landscape designer would think this is coming along fine.

i'm switching over to another project now, i bought some of walli's grass the other day, its something dark, and forested, but its not something too scary :)
