Title: Texture
Post by: Canning_s on November 11, 2010, 11:51:09 PM
Is it possible to create a colored version of a heightmap to use as a texture for that heightmap?

You can use the surface layers in the Terrain window to color by altitude and slope. You can then use the 3D Preview to position the camera so that the terrain is perfectly framed in the view. Or you could load the heightfield into Photoshop or GIMP and then use Gradient Map.

Canning search the internet -- when we were all using the original TG there were hundreds or thousands of discussions about this sort of thing, plus lots of tutorials.  They're all still out there.  For example search for "canyon de chelly Terragen."
