Title: Reboot!
Post by: dhavalmistry on November 19, 2010, 03:58:57 PM
Hello friends.

Its been a while since I have opened up TG2 and made a render (almost 2.5 years). But now that I have some free time on my hands, I figured I can restart using TG2. I have forgotten everything, hence a noob looking render. Pretty happy with how the clouds look.

I cant figure out what the dots are for?

Its good to be back!

Hey! Welcome back!

The terrain might look a bit noobish, but the clouds certainly do not :)
The dots are funny though...did you render it with acceleration cache enabled?
Sometimes unexpected results can be solved by disabling acceleration cache.
Not sure though, as you may mention, in this case.

Cheers,
Martin

It might be a little light leaking through the terrain, illuminating the more sever displacements.
Keep working on it. I have forgotten some things I used to know. I've learned new ones since.

Thanks TU.....yes the acceleration cache was enabled and I dont think its the clouds causing the dots. Like njeneb said, it could be light leaking through.

There are no severe displacements. All the displacements are well under breaking limit.

Hey welcome back:)
I like the warped strata, subtlety done :) Long shot but are there any fake stones in there? Or try upping the "Compute Terrain" Gradient patch size.

Hey Cyphyr, thanks and there are no fake stones in there. I will try the compute terrain tweak.
