New thread.. where I will post my pictures done with Terragen2.
Hope you like the first one (old ship coming from web, plants from X-Frog libs)

Hi, welcome to the forum.
We normally start a new thread for images from new projects. This makes it easier for people to track your updates.
The picture seems to be too dark behind the ship. The ship 'glows'. Could you post a straight Terragen 2 render?
Hi,
Thanks for your comment.
btw I prefer to post all my pictures in an unique thread.. it's easier to me ;)
An other version of the same scene..

Wow! The second one is second to none! Great renders. :)
Second one looks very good!
Only the sail looks artificial . If you could-can fix them it could be seen as a photo :)
This latest pic is very good. Just right. I think the sails would look this way because of the view angle.
wows!, these are both really great :)
i like the dark clouds in the first one, but the second one, overall, looks more realistic imo.
Hi
Excellent.
#1 the island and plants are better.
#2 The ship and the water are better
The sailing of the ship have no curvature,
maybe you'll find a more realistic model then it would be a photo.

So these pics were created with the new alpha build 2.2.21? How do you get hold of this version, I think the latest official version is 2.1.18.1?
I like the second one best as well, I think the first once is a little dark.
He's an alpha tester. 2.2 will be released publicly soon.

Was just surprised as Onyx seems to be a new guy around here, only 3 posts. If he's been accepted into the alpha tester team I assume he's no newbie Terragen user.
I had a suspicion that we all probably know Onyx in here already as a different name, when I saw the image posts yesterday. Maybe not, though. :D
Regardless, great work, a pleasure to view. :)
We've got a number of alpha testers who have probably never posted here actually, hehe. Sorry to hijack the thread btw Onyx. Back on topic now. :)

love the second one!
hey nice pictures :o they remind me of luc bianco's works
A basic vegetation picture just to illustrate use of cloud "localise" new feature... (http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=10391.30)

Looks great! Splendid work!
If the shadows would reveal a tad bit more detail and the mist noise-free then this would be perfect :)
Where are the models in the foreground from? They look very nice as well.
Cheers,
Martin

A basic vegetation picture...
Basic ? Onyx who are you :) Very nice picture !
I think the only thing that gives it away is the ground color-variation(lack of) on the right side and the typical clean 3d render look and little plant variation.
And because it is posted here on the TG2 forum!
I have seen many strange and 3D looking photos in many places.
If this was in one of this places i would say how it looks like a 3D render but i would accept it as a photo.
Hi
Wonderful!
Like a Foto.
Only the excellent plants in the foreground need a little more differences in colors and the ground on the right side too. But anyway realy an excellent image!!!

Basic ... because as you said there is not enough work on vegetation variation and no composition.
Regarding "strong" shadows it was intentional because canyon surface has 1 color only
So is the new localize function able to constrain the clouds within the canyon walls, rather than have it intersect as would be the case with the public TG2?

No, the localize function is a bit like a built-in distance-shader.
See Matt's post here, it's the 2nd item: http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=10391.msg114506#msg114506 (http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=10391.msg114506#msg114506)
What you describe would be the 4th item of the list.
Honestly I don't really see the localization effect in this particular image.

wow very nice shot!
wanna look over the edge to see what is in the canyon, excellent detail!
