Thanks! What a nice way to begin exploring TG2 again.
Thanks for all the hard work guys.
This is a awesome update.
Regards,
Terje
I've never seen a release page like this for past releases, it's a nice idea. With the images alongside the description it helps to see what the features actually do.
Thanks Reck, we'll be doing this (and more) moving forward.

I'll see what what scene I can muster up next lol.

And it looks more professional , very nice :)
Looks like a good update !
Awesome update ! :)
Many thanks to your staff and for the hard work!!!
There are many improvements which make my heart lucky :)
Render Atmosphere is the right improvement for nice god rays without noise.
Thank you a lot !
Peter
In the changelog for the renderer improvements, it says:
QuoteMotion blur length, shutter offset and depth of field parameters (alpha builds only) have been moved to a new tab labeled Blur.
Does this only applies to the animation version of TG2? Because I'm not seeing it the standard version.
Nevermind, it says alpha build only ><
QuoteThe 2.2 release is available free of charge for licensed users of Terragen 2 as of Friday, November 26th, 2010. If you are a licensed user, please use the built-in Check For Update feature to access the new version.
What if you work offline?
And by the way, is this public update more advanced than the alpha 2.2.21.0? Sorry to say, but I haven't logged in to the project tracker for 2 weeks, so I've missed your call for testing.

If you work offline you can request a download link, which will be sent to your registered email address after your license details are verified.
There are no significant differences from that alpha version.

Thanks, Oshyan.
Thanks for this early X-mas present!
When I click on "Check for updates" it says there are none available. I'd really like to see what the new interface looks like since I have long thought it needed improvement. How may KI obtain the upgrade?
So far, it is only available for Terragen 2 Deep or Animation. Sorry...
Blackcat, I believe you're a member of the alpha team. If you're still running an alpha version it's not going to notify you of the 2.2 final update. If you're not running an alpha version, what version do you currently have installed?
- Oshyan
Quote2.2 final update
Final? I hope not!
Heh, "final" as in the "final" (complete, end result) version of 2.2, the release version. Not the final (as in last) version of TG2. :)
- Oshyan
I wasn't really serious, but I'm glad you acknowledged ;)

version 1.10.37.0
I know I've kind of fallen behind in what's been going on, but half a dozen book deadlines this year have kept me a little preoccupied. I hope to become more active in the forums again now. I think I've come up with some stuff over the past year that might be worth sharing.
That's an extremely old version! Before even the final release of 2.0. Time to update! Download the latest alpha at the alpha test site. :)

So, is the free 2.2 version coming out next summer, or can we expect it sooner. ;)

Unfortunately there are those amongst us, myself included, who are on very fixed incomes[senior pension barely covers essentials]and as TG2 is nearly my only distraction from abject poverty, I found this reply kinda mean spirited for the Christmas Season...sigh.. ...
He asked whether he should wait as long as last time before.
So, one can keep using the free version and stay patient, as he's the last in line and should have to.
Or buy it and have a play right away.
If you can't buy it, which I can perfectly understand, then don't press for quicker free updates.
This has nothing to do with "bad spirit during Christmas Season" in my opinion and I'm sorry if I have made you feel that way.
Well, if you want you can find offence in anything, but I'm pretty sure that's not applicable to you Bobby.
Cheers,
Martin
Nah..I'm just feeling the pinch especially hard since my break in in October in which I lost all computers and back up drives[2 complete systems and usb backups]and have had to really scramble to stay cyber as it's mt job over at Renderosity as well as my art/hobby...guess I was a bit snippy...sorry Martin.. ...
