So a while ago, I made this image:

But I was never fully happy with it, so a short time ago I went back to the file, updated it and then managed to crank out 3 new versions at different times of day: morning, midday and evening. Final colour correction and post completed in Nuke. Enjoy!

I like the day version....very cool!
I liked the clarity in the first version a bit better, but a big improvement is that the depth is more convincing now with this thicker atmosphere (I'm primarily comparing the middle one with your first version).
Besides that the displacements look better too.
Pretty cool work, the foreground steep feature reminds me a bit of the Venezuelan steep rockfaces depicted in pixar's Up. Only difference is is that you were "slightly" ahead of them :)
