First time I've posted here in ages. I do still lurk, just lost my Terragen "Muse" :(
Anyway, this is the first render I have been sort of pleased with for a very long time. This is version 1, straight out of Terragen, no post work. There are models from many of you here, Klass, Walli, Mr Lampost and a couple of mine too.
I have 2 different model monitors on my PC in work and I'm not sure how this will look to you all, as it looks great on 1 monitor, but too bright on the other >:( Let me know if it looks OK

The lighting looks good to me, and it's nicely composed. Not sure about the flock of birds - maybe only a couple?
Looks really good here Mr. Where can I download that tree that's close to the camera?
Very good scene. The background mountain is near photo realistic!
I like the birds, they look right.
Even the grasses are not too bad, except maybe that the single, tall grass instances looks wrong there.
Overall, I like the render a lot. It could also be a good basis for some further scene development, with additional objects maybe. A ladder up the tree and a bench and table, or an old hut in the farer midground..
Cheers,
Frank
I hope you have found your Muse. Welcome back! I think something in the middle ground would make this look more finished. Everything else is really nice.
I like the tree also!
reck (and anyone else interested) the tree can be downloaded here (as a TGO) http://www.gintdev.co.uk/mr-miley/treedownload.html (http://www.gintdev.co.uk/mr-miley/treedownload.html)
It is NOT my model, it is a free sample from the Evermotion site. I have NOT altered the model in any way, just rehooked all the image maps up and saved it out as a TGO, to save you a bit of work (I did create a very rough displacement map from the bark image).
If anyone has a problem with this then let me know and I'll remove it immediately.
To all, thanks for the comments ;D
Nice work! I checked the site and it seems the link is broken, proper on would be: http://www.gintdev.co.uk/mr-miley/quercus.rar
Yeah, sorry about that, the link works now, forgot to make it relative to the page.... DOH ;D
very nice render! :)
