Title: Another Titan...
Post by: blackcat on December 16, 2010, 10:00:06 AM
This was kind of a pill to create, but it came out OK, I think. It's a scene on Titan just after a methane rainstorm has passed...

That's looking pretty cool(!) as far as I can tell...could you post a bigger version? ;)

Cheers,
Martin

Awesome. 8) I have to admit that these images are making me reconsider my astronaut fantasies.

I'm curious, too.

I certainly think the bottom right part is the best part for me. Very convincing! I would like to know if you have "helped it" a bit or whether it's pure TG2?

Regards,
Frank

The whole thing was "helped" a lot! (As are all of my images for that matter.) It would be nice to have done them in pure unadulterated TG2 but there are some things it's just not up to (yet, anyway! TG2 gets better all the time...). Since I have to satisfy a lot of pretty nit-picky scientists and astronomy buffs with these illustrations, the need to get them right supersedes any inclination I might have to try to do them entirely in TG2. (For instance, if rocks have to look a certain way on some world and TG2 either can't render them that way or can only approximate them, I have to step in.) But there's certainly no question whatsoever that these pictures would absolutely have not been possible without TG2!  ;D

One of the things I've been working hardest at is the texturing of rocks and other landscape features...to the detriment of learning a lot of other things about TG2 (hence some of my recent questions...about things that proved to be old hat to almost everyone else in here).
