Title: Once Burned, Twice Shy

This one glanced off the atmosphere instead of burning up.

Interesting idea and nice structures on the asteroid.
In my opinion the planet doesn´t match the realism of the asteroid.
Maybe its atmosphere could show some signs of this close shave?
Best Regards,
Jan

Agreed, the colors came about when fiddling with four power fractals, each one feeding to the input of the next.
Using a very high ( -11) negative offset, the last color I was picking seemed to be acting more like a filter than an addition.
For example if I picked a blue for the last color fractal it would result in pink areas on the planet not blue.

Eventually I got these admittedly lurid colors, but they somehow reminded me of the some old Ace science fiction book covers
of fifty years ago, so I decided to try them. Now I must try a more muted set.
