looks fantastic, the stratas and tree populations look perfect.

i love how the water gets that sort of saturated color of blue

Not quite so far north as Alaska.  That is Peyto Lake in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.  There is a road up to the viewpoint this photo was taken from off the highway.  Usually packed with tourists.

The terrain itself would be the most difficult I'd think. The strata are pretty easy.

You could probably bend the strata upwards with a distance shader...
