Title: Day off
Post by: chris_x422 on January 31, 2011, 04:50:04 AM
Hi all,

First day off in a fair while so I had a bit of time just to play.
It's sad, I know, still working in my spare time.

Testing different lighting here, barely any sunlight at all, just a mixture of environment and occ lighting.

Very atmospheric, what was the render time ? Not so sure about the tree, looks kinda out of place.

Thanks guys,

Render time was about 15 mins, at about 2k full resolution.

I sort of like the tree, just helps break things up a bit. If I get any more time though I may model something else for the scene.

Pretty convincing atmosphere. I like the shadows of the clouds which break up the image in sections.

'Nice' atmosphere, Chris, you don't want to be there. You'd need some ruins...

Cheers guys,

The oppressive atmosphere pretty much sums up where my heads been lately.
Might need to build a shelter in there.

Nice! Renders posted here are usually of the sunny/happy variety, it's nice to see what TG2 can do with a gloomier mood.

I like this atmo a lot. Very oppressive and yet you can still see rather clearly around.

Thanks again for the positive comments,

From my most admired TG artists too, (maybe I'm doing something right)

Helped alleviate the oppressive atmosphere in my head!

Cheers

Chris

The starkness and diffused light deliver a special mood here.
