Title: Render Queue.
Post by: Upon Infinity on February 01, 2011, 03:56:39 PM
Am I to understand that no render queue has been installed as yet?  I see something under the render options about sequence / output, but I'm not sure how to use it.  Not sure if this is it, could someone clarify?

If you have the animation version, you will use the "render sequence" button on that tab to render and save the frames for your animation. This will only work of course if you have animated any of the parameters beforehand. :)

Briefly:
1. at the bottom of the screen you see a timeline. By default it shows you frame one.
2. open e.g. the lighting node and click on the "S" shaped button next to the "elevation" parameter. Select set animation key.
3. enter 100 at the timeline
4. open the lighting node again and set the elevation to 0. Klich the "S" button again and select set animation key again.
5. open the render node and go to the sequence tab. Select the desired output directory. Click the render sequence button.

Sit back and wait. Your computer will now render a sundown animation in 100 frames and save the images where you specified.

Regards,
Frank

Okay, I think that answers my question.  I was hoping that they had implemented a method of setting up different .tgd to render continously and save automatically.  No matter, I can work around it.  Thanks!

There is no built-in multi-TGD "sequence" rendering function, however you could easily write a simple batch file using the commandline parameters to render multiple TGDs.

Why do I get the feeling it's not going to be so simple?  Have a tutuorial on how to do that?

If you can get your hands on Backburner, here is a method to use TG2 with that:
