This is a render I did a few days ago, the bottom half was mainly shadow so I decided to crop it so you dont get as much negative space. I also did some curve and level adjustment in Photoshop. Im not very experienced with the more complex elements yet as before my PC wasnt good enough to handle ecosystems but I will start learning now I have a much better new PC.  What do you think? I have a few more on my deviantart page with my older ones. :)

I think it's quite nice. A grand view. ...although something's wrong with the colors. Too much green. Also, either you had the enviro light switched off, or have overdone the level adjustments in photoshop, but one of the two causes your shadow to be  way too strong.

Regards,
Frank

Yup the shadow was a problem, when I test rendered I did not try out the bottom half. I personaly have a tendency to use over the top effects even though it often lessens the realism a abit, Ill post the original down below. In the original render the shadow is less dark but you can only see little patches of lighter areas which made the bottom half look very odd to me. I decided to darken the levels further to block out those patches and go for a more intense image. :P

^^ On a side not does anyone have any idea what those lines are on the terrain? They look very unnatural and I cant imagine the settings I used causing that?

Very Nice. I think the lines are part of the perlin noise, tthough I am no expert

Those are fractal lines. Use another power fractal with much lower scales and displacement to get rid of them.

Ok thanks, I'll be sure to adjust those settings next time I do a similar render. I have an interview for UNI tomorow so I have been getting a portfolio ready, after Im planning on starting to use poulations for my next render and im getting a little bored with empty mountains now. :P
