For want of a better name. :-\
There's no actual geographical correspondence here, just a quick desert and hills in the background. The sign was an afterthought.
The half-arsed procedural blacktop needs a rethink, I think.
Anyway, Ferrari from Google 3d Warehouse.
Cheers for looking! :)
Wow very nice one , DandelO :)
The road texture could use just a little bit more tweaking and it looks like it is a little bit transparent on the sides ?
The white and yellow lines should be maybe a little bit less clearer too ?
But i think you have made a very nice image here !
Very cool! I've been working on something similar, but what you have hear looks far better than what I've been able to come up with.
he must have passed someone!!! Nowhere is there a big desert where you have to drive on the wrong side of the road (like I know...). Hey, this is great - it FEELS like the desert and it feels like you want to go FAST.
No, the right side of the road. And I could outrun any smoky on my six who says different! ;)
Cheers, all!
Nice ammount of detail! Good job! :)
Ground textures are superb (aside from the blacktop), composition is great - the colorful sign is a great idea. Yes, the car does need to be placed on the right side of the road, especially with a double solid line :) . Those roads sure do make following the speed limit very hard, especially one as low as in the States...
This looks like home - especially near Yuma, Arizona where more of a sandy situation exists. Excellent depiction Martin.
Very nice indeed, Martin. You must have raced this road a lot, as you can see your tire tracks in the macadam. That's one thing I'd soften a bit. Otherwise a great scene! Must be Australia (desert, left)...
Yep its a good one ...
@Ulco ... I did not know that there is something like Nevada in Australia ,-)
Hi
Oh yeah, very nice!
I agree with Kadri.

nice work, tarmac looks like it has movement blur, it be a nice ad for DIRT 3 that gets released soon on xbox
Cheers, folks. I will probably edit this at some point soon, I'm not so happy with the road so, that's where I'll start.
:)
Here's a new rethink on this one.
I made more of the sand partially cover the road/lines, added two ditches at the sides of the road so it seemed more raised, instead of flat to the desert, edited the asphalt shaders and the hard-edged road markings.
Oh! And this is as far to the right as I'm willing to drive. No arguments.
Wow! I like the whole thing. The car looks very good. I like the dust scattering the reflection of the sun.
Like on the way to Vegas ...really like this one!
Didn't think anyone would catch the car dust, Henry. Good eye, you'll get a share of my winnings!
Bob, I'll meet you there...
Cheers, folks! :)

And, the north direction you're headed in early morning shows you're on the right road heading for fun and adventure.
Hi dandelO,
oh WOW realy great.
The sand/dust over the road is excellent.
Only the road itself is to black and clean for reality.

Lovely :)
(I am silently nodding my head - smiling)
I thought it more appropriate to post my variation of Martin's Desert Road tgd here (if you don't mind), so here it is. It was great fun, Martin. You work very methodically, nice to see that. Credits to the French car manufacturer (the brakes work just fine).
Great variation! Love how you made the tire-smoke and the soft shadows work great. I thought maybe driver No.1 had just caught a glimpse of Bob's Mothra, until I realized what's on the signpost now! :D
I see you were coming across the same problem with the sand 'bending' the white lines. That's why I had the sand coverage set to 2, any thinner and it was too transparent and seemed to be picking up the white colour.
Great variation, Ulco!
That is even more Top Gear-ish than Top Gear itself! We all know who is driving the Land Rover. Not sure who's in the BMW but its handling seems surprisingly weak. I have not seen the backside of the sign of course...
Great work!
this is absolutely cool I like it :)
