Title: Cumulonimbus
Post by: mesocyclone on February 27, 2011, 02:31:33 PM
Well, I was trying to explore this concept for a while, and I couldn't get the clouds to look how I wanted...
I can't seem to find the right settings to give that "cauliflower" look to the cumulonimbus billows. I wanted more defined and realistic "boils" in it... More hard convection looking at all... Well, this is the best I could reach 'til now. And yes, that's a 747!  ::)

Anyways, I hope you like the image!
PS.: I've done a very little contrast and color correction in PS. Nothing too exagerated.

EDIT: Almost forgot, model from: http://thefree3dmodels.com/stuff/aircraft/boeing_747/15-1-0-420#axzz1F6Uecsmb

something about this reminds me of those movies from the 50's.  Grand war adventure.

The luc_clouds_v2.tgd is in the thread that is referenced above, you don't need to luc site to get it!!

Really, looks like volcanic stuff...
But it's originally pretended to be a massive, scary thunderstorm.. ;D

Sorry, I haven't seen the attached file in the thread by the first time I looked at it... ::)  ;D

Thanks for viewing guys, later I'll try a new attempt...

Cheers
