Title: Strange numbers
Post by: ethan on February 28, 2011, 04:25:37 PM
Hello terans.

Getting the number .291 or there abouts as the number for scaling the y dimension of either an exported Terr or LWO terrain in order to get it to match position and altitude of the terrain inside of TG.

Does anybody know the meaning of this?

Thanks

Ethan

Have you checked your camera pipeline? No scaling occurs when exporting TERs or LWOs from Terragen. The units are exported 1:1.

Ah, I see from another thread that you are using GeoTiffs. Georeferenced, I imagine. Georeferencing will scale and position the terrain in a way that is not exportable via the usual heightfield export tools. You will need to use the LWO micro exporter via the render node - this will export polygons in world position.
