Title: Subdiv cache error.
Post by: Gooner on March 04, 2011, 11:16:23 AM
Since upgrading to the latest version of TG2 Free I have started to get a subdiv cache warning every time I try to render on the default settings, even if I have only just opened the program and am doing a small Quick render. Going to the advanced tab and upping the amount of cache from 400 to the max solves the problem but it is a bit of a pain to have to adjust this with every single new image.
Is there a way around this so I don`t have to keep doing this? I have included a screenshot so you can see the error.

Computer specs -

Dell XPS16, Win7 Home Premium SP1 64bit, i7 Q720@ 1.60Ghz CPU
500Gb hard drive, 4Gb RAM,
ATI 1640 Video card with 1Gb of RAM.

You are lucky ... as this not an error. It is a warning. Go to the Advanced Tab of your render and adjust the subdivision cache. The preset of 400 with the 8 virtual cores of the i7 will give only 50 MB per thread. Set this value to 800 and save this scene.

Go into the preferences and set this new saved scene as your startup-scene.

Volker
