Title: RenderWeb
Post by: sjefen on March 16, 2011, 11:53:10 AM
RenderWeb Overview Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H98mP_37s-Q&feature=player_embedded)

I think this was a great idea. I'd like to see something like this for Terragen 2 also. Just not through facebook. Maybe
something on Plantside's homepage. It would be fantastic. I would definitely help out the community render animations
when I'm not using my computer. It is almost constantly on and most of the time I'm not using it  ;)

Terje

That does look pretty cool. I wonder how it will handle non-free/open source rendering systems (i.e. people would need to be licensed to render for most commercial software).

What a very good idea. :)
Looks to be Blender only at the moment though. :(

Integration of RenderWeb with other 3D Animation Software

While currently integrated with the open-source Blender renderer, RenderWeb maintains the ability to be integrated into any existing animation program. Using Facebook as the social network for volunteer rendering, RenderWeb brings with it the capability to reinvent a company's social community.

    * Your 3D renderer will be seamlessly integrated into RenderWeb and Facebookwhile being compatible will all major browsers
    * Volunteers will be able to render on all platforms that support your renderer
