Hello everyone!
I'm creating a tutorial on how to create this picture here. Took less than an hour to render and about an hour to create. I hope you guys like it, and comments and critiques are appreciated!
P.S.: Lens flare and sun glow were done in Photoshop, not Terragen ::)
The camera seems to be distorted.

The camera seems to be distorted.
I know that, and that's the whole point. I thought that kind of giving that "lens distortion" look would give it a more unusual look.
It's sort of like staring at the security cameras at work. The cameras are static, never show what you want to see, and the distortion is so bad you can't determine who you are looking at.
I think this would be much better without the lens distortion. The ridges imply a very dynamic geology. NASA would want things to be as sharp and clear as possible.

Ok, well the tutorial's final result has much less lens distortion (it does have a little). I guess when it renders I could post that, as well.
This has real potential. I look forward to our tutorial. Honestly, I suck at space scenes! :'(
You could probably make a decent glow in TG2 with a cloud layer. You could try this: http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=10822.0

Ah yes, your creation 8) Seriously I totally forgot about that.
I did try it out a while ago and it took a long time to render. It's a little harder to create a tutorial when you have to wait a long time to do test renders. If I were doing just a picture and no tutorial then it would probably be the best option though :)
And here's the new render (created from scratch):
I like this render much better.

I do too. :)

Also keep in mind that lens flares emanate from light sources, so you'll want to move the hotspot of the flare over the sun. Other than that, great render.
