Title: Heidel 3
Post by: Henry Blewer on March 19, 2011, 10:49:22 AM
I tried a high altitude render. This is the first time one of these has worked out decently for me.

The banding may be caused by the jpeg compression. I'll add a link to my Flickr page.

The banding is there also. I'll post on Deviant.

Nice work Henry.

The banding is likely because of the 8-bit depth of the image, which doesn't offer enough colour-space to describe the smooth transitions.

Nice image. Is the banding on the original? I'd agree with TU on the cause. Looks like Flickr realy crunches jpegs.

The banding is barely noticeable in the bitmap saved image. I just watched 'Battle In Space'. Maybe I will make a new version with a 1950's O'Neil type space station.
