Title: Combining terrains
Post by: Lalla on April 11, 2011, 11:19:44 AM
Is possible combining terrains in tg2?
I want to create a canyon and then put a rocky water bed.

Thanks.

No problem. Create your canyon before compute terrain and in the line of shaders after compute terrain add a mix of fake stone shaders as a child of your first surface layer. There are plenty rock, riverbed and canyon tgc's and tgd's to be found in the posts here. Blend this surface layer by height (lowest parts), or make a painted shader as a mask, or use a distribution shader to blend the stones to a certain height. Plenty of possibilities... also more sophisticated and complicated ones than just described.

Sorry but I'm newbie with tg2, it's a great software but with a too much things to understand, for me for now... ;)

Can you explain better? Or can I found some tutorials somewhere?

My canyon is a rendering of Grand Canyon, I want to put a rocky bed on it.

Thanks.
