Post by: Lalla on April 22, 2011, 08:42:15 AM
I've some troubles merging dems with global mapper.
I can't load all dems I've because program go out of memory.
Can i solve this if I need load dems to create unique terrain?

Thanks.

If you are loading in so much data that it is beyond the programs, and by extension your computers limitations there is really no solution other than to load smaller less detailed data or a smaller area.

One way you *might* be able solve this is to load in as many as you can, then convert (output them) them to a Global Mapper Grid-a tiled grid- obviously including your projection info. A GM grid uses whole numbers to enable greater compression so I'm told. And then load in the separate tile sets into one workspace. If you can't load the whole data set with a GM grid, then you've not much chance of doing it I'm afraid.
