Title: First Time Caller, but long time fan (having never used for production however)
Post by: herojig on May 02, 2011, 10:20:53 AM
Hi all, I am at the point where I am thinking of upgrading VUE xstream from 8 to 9, but before I do, maybe there is a better (more stable) way. My workflow is pretty standard I guess: I work in C4D 11.5 and bring in posers and vue environments using the plugins provided with these apps. If I were to use Terragen for creating my terrains instead of Vue, what would the workflow be? I see no mention of a plugin, so how can the tgd be inserted into the C4D workspace? Well, thx for any advice and thx to the developers who provide a decent node-based interface (vs. the insanity in Vue). Cheers,
jigs

You can use the camera/s to get the surface color/s. There is also a new object exporter in 2.3 with which to export terrain. Here is a link for a couple of video tutorials done by Walli. http://www.planetside.co.uk/content/view/58/27/  These explain the workflow better than I can. These were made for T 2.2 or 2.1. The content should still be valid.
