Been a little inactive lately, but I started a project to test some new stuff I havent had the chance to try yet.. :P
I've added the images in the order they were rendered so the last one is the latest..

Awesome snow dude! Intersect underlying? If so, which mode did you use?
Hmmm.. I think the top ones had favour rises and the latest version has intersection. I dont remember the values but they were picked with by guessing and testing :P Also experimented with compute terrain values but I changed it back to default at some point
Love all three, great stuff. If you go further maybe add a bit more colour/texture detail to the bare areas.
I like the third best. But all of them are very nice. I would not change anything.

These are fantastic images, Freelancah. I like the first one for its tranquility, an very nice balance between chaos and peace. The second is my second favorite. Are these purely alpine shader based?

Great alpine scenes. Top one is my fav > love the pristine snow up there where only eagles dare. I'd love to get my snow settings right with intersect underlying. But have the issues with IU been finally resolved?

I don't know.
I remember IU was defect/mal-functioning for some time, but I believe it was fixed?
Or is it still not fixed?
Us testers have asked Matt multiple times about the how and what of IU in the past year, but so far he didn't took any effort >:(

By the way... I am still very green at this TG2 thing, very newbie :P Would you like to share how you created that scene in
the first Alps_1 scene? Those mountains and snow look mighty nice and I have no idea how I would go about creating
such a lovely scene.
Any tips and advice? Would you mind sharing the TGD file of it to see how it all works ?

RArcher Yeah I agree on that. I have added some extra texture on those and some mild vegetation too.. Havent rendered it yet tho!
Dune: Yeah alpine fractal and some power fractal mixed in
max_thehitman: I'l see if I can make it available when I get my stuff set up. Meanwhile I would suggest taking a peek in the file sharing section or actually now that I think of it..The performance test scene that oshyan made has similar alps with snow..
Final version. Some very slight color toning in PS. Using dandel0's snow shader in this one!
