Title: Strata worries
Post by: mhle on May 18, 2011, 04:21:04 PM
Hello, I've been trying to get some strata to show on a DEM of the Grand Canyon. I am however unable to get anything to show, and I'm quite lost as to what is wrong.

The files for the project are at the URL below. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your camera is 15km up in the sky. You can barely see the terrain in detail at that altitude, let alone strata.
Consequence of that is that you set the blendshader altitude constraints to 13000m and higher as well.
I think you have moved your camera somewhere into the canyon but forgot to "confirm" the new camera position by clicking on the bottom left of the preview-render (it has a small camera icon with an arrow below it pointing to the right....click on that button and the current camera position will be updated).

Ok great, I had a little play with your scene. Will show in a couple of minutes.

Edit: Ok, here it is...

Here's the .tgd file...

Click on the note-node next to the terrain group for a mini-tutorial.

Have fun!

This is what I have been able to come up with so far, using the strata from above as a guide.
