Title: Neige sur objet ?
Post by: bla bla 2 on May 22, 2011, 07:32:47 AM
Bonjour, a tous.

Je suis en train de chercher pour mettre de la neige sur un objet par exemple une voiture.

Est-ce que c'est possible ? ( Avant j'espère ne pas chercher pour rien ^^ )

Hi everyone.

I'm trying to put snow on objects, like a car. Is it possible ? (I hope I'm not looking for nothing ^^)
Thanks.

You can add snow on trees/leafs by putting a white surfacelayer in between the texture shader and the parts shader.
However, you can't displace the surface to generate thick(er) snow.

I think Dandelo did some work on this. You might look at some of his threads from 2010, spring I think.

Not me. I did the surface layer snow thing, like Martin suggested, in about 2007 when I first signed up to this forum but I don't think I did anything like that last year.

Those worked Jason, and I think what he may well have done is create snow objects from the parts of the model that were to be snow covered and imported them then turned them into snow. That's how I'd attempt this but as the freakin' snow finally turned into a spring flood here 'bouts I've no inclination to play with snow any more, heh heh heh.. ...

the snow is cube (oblong shape to fit the size of the car) using melt and magnet I pulled it into shape creating the thick snow on the cars  ;D
