One of my first tests at populating with trees, comments and suggestions are more than welcome! :)

Hi Mads,
Are you using the free version of TG2?
I was wondering if you could render it bigger and at higher AA settings (as higher AA improves the quality/detail of the trees).
Cheers,
Martin
I am indeed using the free version.
I have attached a 800x600 render with aa set 3 (max)
The higher res shows a bit better what's going on.
What happens if you apply a bit of displacement the way I did it for you in the grand canyon .tgd I gave you?
The scale and amplitude of the displacement might need to be adjusted, but it could give interesting results.
Right now the displacement on the surface is a bit too noisy and strong.
(For better evaluation during design/development you might consider temporary disabling of the strata shader)
Hey, I decided to try a new approach with the crater concept.. the following is the tentative result...
Not a million miles away at all. The full version will give you better resolution of course. I'd try and break up that rock pattern though. I like how it seeps into the top tree bank.
I like what your doing here. I used to make a lot of Crater Lake renders using VistaPro.
Hi all and thank you for your comments! :)
Here is a version close to final
Looking good! Keep it up!
agree with freelancah....looking real good!
Thanks all! :D
I have spoken to some people about this picture and have received comments that the fog at the bottom of the crater isn't realistic, because it get's too quickly dense. I have tried to search for jungle photos with fog, but haven't come up with anything conclusive... What are your opinions on that matter?

I think I tend to agree...although it doesn't look too bad at all if you'd ask me...
If you decrease density it is likely you'll lose those puffy ones to the right...
Decisions, decisions :)
This is an attempt to avoid making a decision ;)
